Sparrowrattle

Sparrowrattle was a lean muscled warrior with a chocolate broken mackerel tabby pelt. His fur is long and would often get tangled due to lack of effort when grooming, however he didn’t neglect his pelt entirely, as when he did groom it well enough, it was soft and silky, a trait that was passed down to his daughter, Mousewillow, but not his second daughter, Eaglecry.

His eyes were a deep forest green, dark against his chocolatey coat, however, he bore white markings that spread from his underbelly all the way to the bottom of his eyes with a short, close to bobbed tail that was the most common victim of his careless grooming, making it look bushier and fluffier than it was, often making it look similar to a ball of moss.

Sparrowrattle’s ears aren’t the usual shape of a feline’s ear however, a gift from his sire, his ears are curled in a similar way to his daughter, Eaglecry. This is due to his sire carrying American curl blood that was passed down to Sparrowrattle.

He was a open-minded elder who always had a knack for leaving camp without being noticed, and when he was noticed, there was not a lot of fanfare in regards to his trips. They always just seemed to be casual walks out of camp or simple hunting trips that leant him some prey for the other elders. Which he hoped would make him well liked whenever he was present.

As a warrior, he was full of boundless energy and an impulsiveness that would have occasionally lead to trouble that sometimes he could exactly squirm his way out of, leading to a few scars that break up his pelt.

To those who were close to him however, he was a charming and friendly spirit that couldn’t be tamed, he always offered a helping paw to whoever needed it and never said no to a cat in need of his help, even if it would have been something so important of being a sire to a litter, especially then.

Sparrowrattle was born as Sparrowkit to two loving parents, senior warriors, Beetlechirp and Beecloud alongside a single littermate, a tom, who was name Littlekit, due to the small size of the kit. Sparrowkit and Littlekit could have been descibed as rather clingy as they grew, always shuffling to their mothers’ side until it was time for the two to join the apprentices in training to be warriors.

Becoming apprentices to a polite but energetic she-cat, Sparrowpaw saw the purpose in having energy and independence. His mentor taught him her values and Sparrowpaw often sought her guidance when he was stuck on a task or simply just needed someone that wasn’t Littlepaw that he could speak to.

However the soft and friendly conversations with his still clingy brother soon came to an end mid-way through his apprenticeship, as Littlepaw was hit by a monster after chasing a piece of prey too far onto the Thunderpath. Littlepaw’s death devastated Sparrowpaw and Beecloud, the two found solace in one another and Sparrowpaw made it a point to treasure his clanmates for the time he had with them, as he never knew how long their bonds would last.

On his 12th moon of life, he had been presented to the leader and was given the name Sparrowrattle for his tireless energy and Nobility. He thought himself as a fine hunter and fighter, always willing to slice through any enemy or piece of prey that he needed to for his clan.

However, on a normal day during the Moon of First White (2015) he was approached to sire a litter to an experienced queen by the name of Ratfreckle. He agreed after seeing no reason not to and two moons later, Ratfreckle had given birth to her second litter, two she-cats of which she named Mousekit and Volekit, he watched his kits grow into fine warriors, namely, Mousewillow and Eaglecry respectively.

Sparrowrattle met his tragic end when he gained an infection from a rat bite, which festered and only got worse, eventually reaching his vital organs and killing him. But even so, he didn’t doubt that his daughters would have done something great with their lives. He has been and always will be proud of their achievements.
