Juniperleaf

Juniperleaf was a lean she-cat with dark-brown tabby striped short fur. She had one white paw, a white tipped tail, a white ear, and a white patch of fur on her chest. Her left eye was bright-green and her right eye was pale blue with a long scar over top of it, running from above her eye to her shoulder.

Juniperleaf was a kind she-cat who would do anything to protect her kits and her Clan. She had dark mentalities developed from a life without biological parents present. However, that didn’t stop her from caring about her kits or her Clan.

0-6 moons:

Juniperkit was born to a unhealthy queen who died soon after. The name of her sire was never disclosed, and so, she grew up not knowing the comfort of having Kin. However, she aspired to become a cat who could be there for cats like herself. As she grew, she studied the way that the other cats interacted with one another, learning helpful social skills from it.

She also tried to learn about herbs and fighting skills by sneaking around the warriors and medicine cats’ dens. Of course, a grumpy and disappointed kit was dragged back to the nursery and scolded for her scheme. Although, there were some that admired her aspiration for knowledge.

7-12 moons:

As an apprentice, Juniperpaw was quite studious, spending as much time as she could perfecting her hunter’s crouch, running and fighting with precision, learning the Warrior Code, learning about negotiations, and lastly, learning about herbs.

She excelled at all her studies, but she found that the most interesting subject for her training was field medicine. There were so many different herbs that had different uses and different times that they grew. Although she was quite disappointed to find that she would have to ask the medicine cats if she wanted to learn more about herbs.

Later on in her training, a few moons before she became a warrior, she began learning about stealth, constantly practicing in her free time. Before she knew it, she could sneak up on almost any cat, her small stature, short fur, and lean body perfect for moving silent and unnoticed. She could say it was her talent.

13-29 moons:

Juniperleaf recieved her name for her constant growth and aspiration for knowledge. She was proud to carry her name, and wore it until the day she died. No cat could ever imagine how precious the meaning of her name was to her.

At the age of seventeen moons, Juniperleaf had a terrible accident, falling on sharp stones while running and almost losing sight in her right eye. This accident left her scarred for life, and taught her a strong lesson about paying closer attention to her surroundings.

During and after her recovery, Juniperleaf began learning how to cope with her injury, seeing herself differently. She was still the same cat, but something about how she looked at herself changed. Her gaze was neither gentle nor resentful. She’d come to accept herself for who she was, scars or not.

Juniperleaf died seven sun-rises after the birth of her kits, at the age of 29 moons. She left peacefully, dying of unknown causes. One of her kits were so traumatized that she forgot her mother completely, and to this day still does not know of the mother who would have liked to have raised her.
