A long-bodied, ginger classic tabby trans tom with a paler belly and amber eyes

• Fallstripe is a biologically female tom with a ginger classic tabby coat and gold eyes. He is a lanky cat, longer from nose to tailtip than most cats. He is also quite skinny, with the outline of his shoulder and hipbones being visible even when well-fed. The circular pattern on Fallstripe’s side is very large and almost perfectly round. The stripes on his back and sides appear to be redder and darker than the ginger-brownish shade of the stripes on his legs and tail. The color of his underbelly is a paler shade of ginger, even approaching cream, than the rest of his base coloring. The underside of his chin is white; although this is practically unnoticeable unless he has tilted his head back, or another cat is significantly shorter than him.

Fallstripe tries to be level-headed, responsible, and clever. He carries out his duties without complaint and to the best of his abilities, and he encourages other cats to do so as well. He seems to get along well with other cats, and is neither socially awkward nor incredibly charismatic. Despite Fallstripe’s desire to be seen as dignified and worthy of respect, he has a bit of a wilder side, especially prominent when he was a kit. Throughout his apprenticeship, and especially once he was made a warrior, he has attempted to rein in his playful nature. However, he still enjoys joking around, play-fighting, and other games more suited to younger cats, which is something of a source of embarrassment to him.

• Born in the Moon of First Fishing (2020) 134

Fallkit was born during the Moon of First Fishing, on the 17th day, in the Year of Promised Prey, alongside one stillborn she-cat sibling. His mother was Dapplepelt, a second year warrior, and his sire Foxwhisker, a first year warrior. His mother gave him his name after the shade of his pelt, which reminded her of the color leaves turn during leaf-fall. Dapplepelt’s close friendship with Foxwhisker led her to allow him to spend time with Fallkit more than some sires do. Foxwhisker, who found he enjoyed the lightheartedness spending time with a young kit brought, therefore spent much of his off duty time with young Fallkit. This led to Fallkit having as many memories of Foxwhisker play-fighting with him and showing him hunting crouches as he did memories of Dapplepelt teaching him about the Warrior Code and telling him stories about StarClan. His parents were not the only cats Fallkit interacted with as a kit. He was a very energetic and playful young cat and, as soon as he could walk and talk, he was found running about camp and asking various older cats to play with him or tell him a story. However, as he grew older and came closer to his apprentice ceremony Fallkit began to make an effort to be calmer and less distracted. At this time he also came to an important realization; he felt that he was a tom rather than the she-cat his body indicated. He moved forward with this understanding, not wavering in his conviction even if others expressed doubt.

During the Moon of First White in the Year of Promised Prey, Fallkit had his apprenticeship ceremony and became Fallpaw. His assigned mentor was Swiftfoot, a tom rather on the younger side to be a mentor. Nonetheless, Swiftfoot was a competent, if not particularly skilled teacher, and he imparted to Fallpaw the necessary skills of tracking, hunting, fighting, and other things a warrior needs to know. However, Fallpaw was a rather distracted apprentice at first, with his playfulness getting him in trouble only a few weeks after starting training. When he was meant to be practicing fighting moves, he resorted instead to play-fighting and making jokes about how serious everyone was acting. This got him relegated to three weeks of no duties other than caring for the elders and other basic chores. Fallpaw returned to normal duties feeling somewhat resentful, however, not soon after this his mother Dapplepelt died fighting off a non-Clan interloper. While he mourned her loss, it helped Fallpaw realize why taking all his duties seriously was important, and he began to put real effort into only letting his playfulness out while off-duty.

Moving forward, Fallpaw became a model apprentice, doing what he was told no matter how boring the task or whether he thought he’d already mastered a skill. However, a new tragedy pushed his resolve even further when his sire Foxwhisker became ill during the hard times of leaf-bare, and died. Fallpaw became obsessed with mastering warrior skills and began to practice even during his free time. He used logic to work out why things were done rather than just attempting to perfect them; for example that cats place their paws carefully when hunting mice because that prey can feel the vibrations of clumsy paw steps through the ground and will flee. Fallpaw’s hard work payed off and on one hunting patrol he got the chance to show off his abilities. Despite his leanness, he was capable of athletic feats, and when a clanmate startled a bird before getting close enough to catch it, Fallpaw leaped several times his height to snag the edge of it with his claws, bringing it to the ground and wounding it enough that it could easily be finished off. Soon after that, in the Moon of First Fishing, Fallpaw was made a warrior. The leader commended his dedication and cleverness and named him Fallstripe after his distinctive markings.
