Dazzleflame

Dazzleflame is a lithe, but well muscled tom with a bright red pelt, nearly identical to his father’s. He has signature mackerel stripes, which compared to his fathers are a little darker. His frame is more lithe with a muscular undertone, similar to the build of his mother. Dazzleflame also has the same light pink nose as his mother, along with her distinct whisker freckles. He has light copper eyes that usually glimmer with a playful and happy shine.

Dazzleflame is a curious young tom, often finding himself bored around camp and itching to do something. He is restless and almost always constantly moving, whether it be to ask if anyone needs ‘help’ or to get someone to spend time with him.

Dazzleflame also finds it difficult to interact with those who are more withdrawn and quiet, but he still energetically tries to interact with them, hoping to make even the smallest impact on both their lives and the lives of others.

He’s still just as playful as he was when he was a kitten, and often misses when he could play without worrying about anything. He tries his best to hide this, but he thinks it ends up showing anyways. Oh well. At least there’s still time for him to try to change that…

It was hard for him to understand the concept of being ‘blood related’ to somecat, but Dazzleflame did eventually begin to realize what it meant. However, the concept means nothing to him, as he cares just as greatly for those who aren’t really his kin, seeing most of them as family either way.

He also finds it hard not to consider somecat he first meets as a friend. This can throw off his understanding of relationships. However, he is trying his best to change that.

Sometimes Dazzleflame can be quite blunt in the way he speaks, sometimes forgetting to think about what he says before saying it. Normally this is related to his sense of humor, which is more drawn out as sarcasm. He has done his best to prepare himself to apologize if he says something that may be taken as rude, although sometimes he doesn’t notice the plights that he might have caused.

• Born in the Moon of Running Prey (2020) 135

Born the 26th day of the Moon of Running Prey (2020), a bright red mackerel tabby kitten spends his days nestled against the pale cream pelts of his mother and older brother. Dazzlekit received his name because his mother, Clovershine, claimed his bright red pelt made it impossible to miss the small kit, even in the dark. The first part of Dazzlekit’s life revolves around basic kitten needs; eating, sleeping, and sniffing out all the new scents that are just waiting for him to discover.

As he grew mobile, Dazzlekit made an effort to get to know camp, attempting to leave the nursery as much as he could for a breath of fresh air. He is often seen near his mother or siblings, and is rarely seen alone, unless on a self absorbed ‘mission’ of his where he is so distracted by his own curiosity that he forgets he is alone. Climbing, running and playing are some of Dazzlekit’s favourite activities, as he is one that needs to burn energy.

Apprenticeship:

Trained by his mother Clovershine, Dazzlepaw felt that he was gaining an even closer relationship with his mother. Of course, this probably stems from the fact that he find it hard not to consider somecat a friend as soon as he meets them.

His apprenticeship went well, with no major issues. He enjoyed all the extra time he got to spend with his mother, and hoped that they would get to spend even more time with each other when he became a warrior.

Warriorhood:

Dazzlepaw became Dazzleflame for his positivity and energy on the 18th day of Running Prey 2021.

Now a warrior, Dazzleflame hopes to make many more friends, and hopes that he can protect his Clan for many more moons to come. Excited for everything in store for him, as soon as his vigil ended, and after reluctantly taking a nap, he went out into the forest for his first hunt as a warrior, ready for whatever was in store for him in the future.
