Cosmic Tribulation

For seven moons the forest has been stalked by a murderous rogue known as Gemini, whose brutal ambuses have left many cats unable to tell the tales of their attacker. Beginning with the killing of ShadowClan warrior, Whisperingwind near the Thunderpath, the attacks have spread across the territories. This murderous rogue always seems to be able to escape before she can be stopped. With tensions rising between the Clans and the body count growing, RiverClan has proposed a temporary alliance with WindClan to track down and stop Gemini before the Mad Rogue can claim more victims.

Plot Timeline

The rogue first struck on the 20th day of Moon of Tiger’s Wrath 2020 when Whisperingwind, a ShadowClan warrior, was caught on their own patrolling the Thunderpath, leading to an ambush in which the warrior didn’t survive. Tortoiseshell fur was found at the scene of the crime.

Cottonlily, a ThunderClan senior warrior, was found dead on RiverClan’s side of the river on the 7th day of Melting Waters 2021. This led to some confusion and hostility as the body was discovered by Wrentalon, Cottonlily’s son and ThunderClan senior warrior, Bloomfire, a RiverClan warrior, and Duke, a grizzled feral. If not for evidence of fur and blood there might have been a fight between the lot.

Alderfly, a RiverClan warrior, was found deceased at the River’s edge, face first in the river. No blood was found at the scene, yet there was evidence of a skirmish. This happened on the 8th Day of Melting Waters 2021. A raven flew over the scene.

On the 13th Day of Melting Waters 2021, Honeyglow, ShadowClan Elder, and Redpaw, ShadowClan apprentice, were attacked in broad daylight by the murderous rogue. Honeyglow managed to escape with a sprained paw to the sacrifice of Redpaw, who distracted the rogue in a thicket bush, cutting himself up in the process, but distracting the rogue in time for a patrol led by Palestar and Clovershine to defend him. The rogue escapes in the process. Both Redpaw and Honeyglow survive the encounter and live to tell the Clans what the rogue looks like.

On the 16th Day of Melting Waters 2021, the rogue was pinned to the murders of both Pinestep and Doveflight, both WindClan warriors, who caught both unaware on the WindClan moors. Evidence of a skirmish as well as a stranger’s blood and tortoiseshell fur was found at the scene of the crime. Kosmo, a friendly rogue, heard the battle and rushed to help, alongside WindClan deputy, Aspenberry, but the murderer escaped.

On the 7th Day of Running Prey 2021, after the medicine cat’s meeting, Rowanglade, medicine cat of WindClan and her apprentice, Pipertuft, were brutally attacked on their way back to WindClan territory. Pipertuft defended Rowanglade by throwing herself at the rogue, allowing Rowanglade to escape with only a shoulder wound. Cloudflare, WindClan senior warrior, Shadesleek, warrior, and Fallheart, warrior were immediately sent to defend Pipertuft. The rogue was gone when the patrol got there, leaving the patrol to bring back Pipertuft in critical condition. She slipped into a coma soon after and passed days later. A raven flew over the scene.

RiverClan, with information of the medicine cat attack by the mysterious Kosmo (8th Day of Running Prey), sends a delegation to WindClan on the 10th Day of Long Sun, asking to forge a temporary alliance in order to find and kill the rogue that has been ravaging the forest.

On the 11th Day of Long Sun, Quailcall, a ThunderClan warrior, was caught by surprise leading to a quick but brutal skirmish  in which she was gravely wounded, and wounded the rogue, before Leopardrose and Shadefrost’s, both ThunderClan warrior’s intervened to help, driving off the rogue before more damage could be done. Quailcall was led back to camp although she recovered from her wounds and returned to active duty on 9th Day of Lion’s Glory 2021.

Stoneclaw, RiverClan warrior, was attacked on the 17th Day of Long Sun 21′ injuring the rogue in the process, only to be discovered by Goosesong and Cottonbright, both RiverClan senior warriors. Stoneclaw refused treatment and barely tolerated being helped back to camp, where the stubborn warrior succumbed to his wounds the next day.

On the 3rd Day of Lion’s Glory, Wolfkit, Swampkit, and Muddykit became apprentices, with Muddypaw becoming ShadowClan’s new medicine cat’s apprentice. Brackenwing, a ShadowClan warrior, falls prey to the Mad Rogue on the 8th Day of Lion’s Glory and falls into a coma shortly after, on the 9th Day of Lion’s Glory. It is unclear if the cat will survive.

During a sparring training session, Wrentalon and Rimepaw find and attack the Mad Rogue on ThunderClan territory on the 10th Day of Lion’s Glory. Minor injuries, including an injured tail on the apprentice’s part, seem worth it to repel Gemini from their lands.

It has been a full seven moons of Gemini, the Mad Rogue’s, onslaught.
