Heatherpaw dipped her head, ears canting forward as she caught Sunbear’s words. Something about them struck a chord, and for once she didn’t try to smooth it over with chatter.
"Thanks." She murmured, her voice steadier than she expected it to be. Her gaze followed the elder until shadows swallowed her frame, and Heatherpaw found herself smiling faintly despite the lump in her throat. She brushed her tail against the stone once more before standing, stretching the stiffness from her legs.
"I’ll come by." she called softly after her, though it wasn’t clear if Sunbear still heard. Then, with a small shake of her head as though to scatter lingering thoughts, Heatherpaw padded across camp, maybe seeking out Bayflower, maybe Oatpaw.
