That was intense, being in front of a crowd. He tried to be as respectful as possible, but flashed his siblings a smile as he trotted out of the spotlight.
Standing behind Hailstrike, he leaned over to whisper. "So do you think Otterwhisker and Boldstrike had a say in our names? Or is Coldstar just not very creative?" He was teasing, of course. He loved his name - it reminded him of where, and who, he came from.
Hopefully he'd be that same warm comfort for his siblings for as long as they would have him.

Mistypaw had appreciated when Sturgeonpaw joined and tried to basically group the whole apprentice group together. Now, she watched as each of her adopted siblings stepped forward and their names shifted from apprentice 'paws' to their given warrior names. Hailstrike. Merryaster. Stormsquall. Sturgeonwhisker. Those were interesting and neat names. Would hers be as fierce or as interesting as theirs?
The lilac mink apprentice glanced back at Thornstrike as she joined the throng and Mistypaw twitched her tail. She remembered the things her mentor had taught her and spoken to her about and it helped her to relax a bit in the eyes of all the clan gathered.
Bright copped and kitten blue odd-eyes met dark green and mild yellow odd-eyes and hers narrowed ever so slightly. She had known he had the same kind of eyes she did- mismatched but unique- but she also felt he had never seemed very comfortable around her. Mistypaw lifted her head, proud and confident in herself, stepping forward as her name was called.
She didn't want to appear disrespectful but she didn't want to give just a plain and simple response- none of the other four had. "Of course I do, just as my clan has taught me."

He'd hold her to that vow. Mistypaw had passed every trial placed before her. She was an apprentice no longer. But a full member of Riverclan.
"Your river-like flexiblity will serve you well. Like the sun breaking over the horizon, a new day has come for you. From now on, you will be Mistydawn - to honor your future." He placed his head on hers, his tail swishing thoughtfully. She hadn't dissapointed him yet. He hoped it would stay that way.

Merryaster’s chest swelled as Mistydawn’s new name echoed beneath the twin willows, completing the circle they had all walked together. Her teal eyes gleamed, darting from Stormsquall’s intense composure to Sturgeonwhisker’s easy grin to Mistydawn’s poised step, and finally to Hailstrike a steady rock.
RiverClan’s future stood in a neat line, shoulder to shoulder. Her family.
A purr rumbled in her throat, soft but steady, as she lifted her chin. Pride wasn’t something she often let herself revel in...not openly. But tonight was different. Tonight they were warriors. Warriors of RiverClan, with names that would be carried on the tongues of their clanmates, written into the currents of the river itself.
Merryaster flicked her tail tip against Sturgeonwhisker’s flank, a playful little bump of her cheek. "I like our names - you two especially." She voiced softly to Sturgeonwhisker and Hailstrike. Their names would honor their parents. Beneath StarClan’s watchful glow she felt the weight and the gift of what they’d been given. And she would carry it proudly alongside her kin.

Mistydawn.
While it wasn't fierce, it was rather..... pretty. She wasn't fully sure how she felt on a pretty name but it was interesting and she was not going to complain about it. The way he explained the reasoning behind her name pleased her. The dawn of a new future. She liked that.
"Thank you, Coldstar." She mewed softly before bending her head and giving his shoulder a respectful lick. Padding over to join her siblings. she supposed tonight she would sit vigil with the other four. How in the world was that going to work with the five of them?
