Pressure like a drip, drip, drip that'll never stop, whoa. Pressure that'll tip, tip tip 'till you just go pop, whoa.

A bright white shape padded back into camp from, following a successful midday border patrol. Luckily an uneventful patrol, and the heat wasn't something she could easily shrug off due to her size, but she felt as though the day wasn't over yet. There was something that needed to be done. Where was her apprentice?

Tail tip giving a twitch in thought, her pondering betrayed her anxiety at where Mintpaw could be. It brought her to the apprentice's hollow, shaded by the boughs of the Willow - a small relief in Green Leaf heat. Perhaps he was in his nest, taking a much needed reprieve. Or maybe he was out making dirt, or elsewhere? Cottonbright held her breath, lime eyes peering into the hollow.

"Mintpaw, l-let's do some training today."

A cream paw lifted to wash Mintpaw's face, removing the last bits of fishing bird he had enjoyed for lunch. He was just about to gather up some of the down feathers to take to Otterwhisker for her nest when he heard his mentor's voice. "D-d-o I have time t-to take Otterwhisker these f-feathers?" He asked curiously before adding. "W-what are we d-doing today?"

Cottonbright watched as her apprentice just finished a meal, a fuzzy bird prime for picking precious down. She nodded approvingly, a bit of a lopsided kitty smile as her thoughts wandered to Otterwhisker and her spot in the nursery. One day, perhaps she'd enjoy having a litter, but as of right now, her days were muddled with her warrior duties, and more recently mentor tasks.

"Of course, Mintpaw. That's a very thoughtful gesture."

She mewed, not doubting for a moment that Mintpaw was anything less than the empathetic cat he seemed to be.

"Once you deliver those feathers I was thinking we could practice some fishing techniques today. Let's see what Otterwhisker is up to."
