Beetlekit crouched near the nursery wall, the soft moss beneath him still smelling faintly of milk and warm fur. A moss ball lay just a whiskerβs length from his front paws. He extended one tiny paw and touched it with the lightest tap. The ball wobbled, barely moving an inch.
Beetlekitβs ears pricked but he did not pounce. He watched the way it settled. Then... slower this time, he nudged it again. The ball drifted closer to him and it brushed against his toes. He pulled his paw back slightly as though uncertain whether heβd done something wrong.
No one seemed to be watching as far as he could tell. Hopefully mama let him play a bit... Beetlekit shifted closer tail stub barely flicking with the motion..
