Goosesong x Cottonbright

As a pair, Cottonbright and Goosesong work well together, as the two of them had been friends for many moons and counting. Cottonbright often brings out the best in Goosesong, while Goosesong is something steady and consistent in Cottonbright’s life of which she trusts greatly. They mated out of mutual care for one another and Cottonbright’s wish to continue to grow the clan.

Cotton n’ Feathers (27TW20): Goosesong is found by Cottonbright while relaxing in the warriors’ den, the two bond over their shared rank of senior warrior and speak of training their apprentices and how they are developing. Cottonbright shares her self doubt to Goosesong in a moment of vulnerability and Goosesong helps in comforting her about it, displaying the trust they have in one another. The two newly found friends then offer a shared hunting session with their apprentices the next day.

Frozen Over (4MW21): While on a patrol ordered by Coldgaze, now Coldstar, Goosesong strikes up conversation, of which begins with the state of the river, but eventually moves into trading of training techniques with one another. The two connect over the sharing of skills and work together to catch a water vole. This portrays how well the two are able to work together and that the both of them are able to offer each other advice when needed, showing their mutual respect.

Meltwater Mornings (23FG21): After the river had thawed, Goosesong and Cottonbright go out fishing for the day, however, after only a few catches the two get caught up in chatting. Not only sharing each others’ grief, but supporting each other through it. Strengthening their already strong bond with one another. 

Flailing or Failing? (12LS21): Cottonbright brings Goosesong to a dip where water flowers under the waterfall leading to the gorge, the two embrace the mist before Bayflower, a cat the two are familiar with arrives, prepared to learn how to swim. The two offer their advice to Bayflower, trusting one another to teach the WindClanner the art of the water. Even if subtly, this brings the three cats closer.

Claws Against the Stones (17RP21): When the Mad Rogue, Gemini, had attacked Goosesong’s sire, Stoneclaw, Goosesong was the first to find his badly injured sire, Cottonbright shortly after, the two worked together to bring the older warrior back to camp, much to Stoneclaw’s chagrin. In spite of Stoneclaw’s eventual death in the medicine cat’s den thereafter, Goosesong showed appreciation for Cottonbright’s help in the stressful situation.

Where Tides Meet (13CF21): Cottonbright catches Goosesong at the edge of the river, the two reflect on Stoneclaw and Goosesong’s self blame, however with the help of Cottonbright, Goosesong had made peace with the fact that battle would have been the only way Stoneclaw would have accepted death. Afterwards, Cottonbright frets her worry for Goosesong, worry that they may be drifting apart, but Goosesong reassures her with a promise to spend more time with her, in which she thanks him. The two then catch a fish for each kit in the nursery, returning to camp after a day of bonding.

Roll in the Heather (17CF21): After her talk with Goosesong, and the dawning knowledge that the kits of the clan will be out of the nursery sooner than she’d like, she decides to leave camp to think about it. Goosesong runs into her while on a walk across the territory and chats with her. The conversation leads to being about the future, which then leads to Cottonbright asking for Goosesong to sire a litter for her. Goosesong accepts after some convincing, but he still worries for Cottonbright’s health, hoping that she will be able to eventually pull through.

Overall, I believe that Goosesong and Cottonbright would be one of the best candidates for the next RiverClan litter.
