Appearance Short Description : A black, silver and white spotted tabby she-cat with one blue eye and long fur Long Description :
Pebbleshine is nearly identical to her son, being a long-furred silver she-cat, though instead of having the broken pattern that Specklenose has, the pattern on her pelt is spotted, which is what gained her the prefix ‘pebble’. She has a white muzzle and tail tip, along with pale blue eyes. Her features are sharp, and she has slightly tufted ears. Due to a hawk attack a few moon ago, Pebbleshine now has multiple scars running across the left side of her face, and a half torn ear. This attacked blinded her right eye. Her long fur covers a reasonable amount of her scars, but a large proportion can still be seen where the fur will never grow back. Her long fur is thick, and slightly messy, as after her injury, Pebbleshine made the choice to take less care in her appearance, upset she wont look the same way as she did when younger. Appearance used to be a top priority for her, but she now just grooms when needed. |
Personality Pebbleshine is a clan devoted cat who wishes to pass her and her family’s legacy onto the next generation. She is friendly, but not entirely outgoing preferring to be approached rather than to approach someone. Since her injury, her personality has changed slightly. She has become more insecure and reserved, mainly staying within the elders den unless busy. Despite her change in confidence, Pebbleshine still sticks to her own morals, ready to defend herself and her actions if anyone tries to oppose her. She does the same for those who have earned her respect, willing to do as much as she can to defend their honour if she has deemed them worthy. She has a softer side for the younger cats of the clan, often liking to teach them as much as she can. She has a strong desire to still be useful, but finds it hard to do so since she never properly adjusted to having only one working eye. She found her daily activities harder, and ultimately asked to retire earlier than one would, ashamed that she couldn’t recover properly. To comfort herself, or to feel more useful she is constantly working around camp, while doing her best to avoid others. The kits and apprentices are her favourite to work with, but she is always scared that one day she will frighten a kit with her scared face, so she avoids them as much as she can. If a kit approaches her though, she assess their body language and confidence until she feels comfortable enough – and from there on she loves it, teaching lessons and giving stories from her warrior days, a softness glowing in her eyes and heart that she doesn’t feel nearly as often anymore. |

Full History :
KITHOOD Pebblekit was born into a litter of three where her mother raised her with gentle guidance. Pebblekit was quite disciplined, always doing what she was told and doing her best to keep out of trouble. She was happiest during her kithood, where she could be carefree and clueless, not having to worry about anything other than the current. She always liked to live in the present, not often thinking about her future life as a warrior, preferring to focus on the now, being as realistic as possible. Despite this, she was still fun to be around – in her families opinion at least. She liked to playfight, and decorating things was always a favourite activity; even now as an elder she still makes effort to keep the elders den tidy, weaving flowers into the outside if she comes across any. APPRENTICESHIP Newly named Pebblepaw gained confidence after graduating to an apprentice. She had purpose now, one that she wanted to fulfill. She listened hard, taking training seriously much to her siblings annoyance who wanted to have fun every now and again. She could have fun, but not while training. Training was meant for learning, not for playing around. Her mentor appreciated this attitude, but thought she could loosen up a little, for she was still young and had many years left of her life. A little carelessness wouldn’t hurt. She shared her training with both her siblings, and another litter only a moon older. The group was tight-knit, but Pebblepaw strayed on the outside, for her completely serious approach to training was not exactly appreciated. It wasn’t that the others didn’t take training seriously, it was just that they never saw Pebblepaw have fun. She seemed so focused on graduating that she never took the time to care for herself. WARRIORHOOD While her siblings may have rolled their eyes, Pebblepaw was happy with who she was, earning her full name, Pebbleshine at the age of 12 moons. With less focus on training, Pebbleshine loosened up a little, her family happy to see her smiling more often. They joy she contained during her kithood returned, and even Pebbleshine was starting to notice a difference in herself. During her first few moons of her life as a warrior, she realised that she had in fact been taking life too seriously, and was starting to regret not taking the same path as those around her age did. While she had her regrets, she didn’t dwell on them. Still as realistic and ‘current moment’ driven as she was when younger, Pebbleshine quickly fell into the routine life of a warrior. Within this routine life of hers, the idea of having kits of her own soon crossed her mind. She had always softened up around the younger ones in the clan. Having a litter of her own seemed like a good way to mix up her life a little while still providing to the clan; plus the concept of having her own mini Pebbleshine’s was extremely exciting to her. She had a few options for the sire of her litter, but ended up asking her good friend Rubblegaze. She trusted him, and while they weren’t the closest friends, she new he was a good choice, plus she had always found him cute, especially with his speckled nose. It was something she hoped would pass down to her litter. Rubblegaze accepted the proposal, and Pebbleshine was happy to raise the litter primarily on her own, knowing Rubblegaze wished to focus on his warrior duties. She wanted to raise the litter herself anyway. She had her ideals on how she would raise them, and didn’t need anyone else interrupting. Even good friends and family. Her birth went smoothly, and she brought life to two tom-kits, although she did start kitting earlier than expected, causing ones growth to be stunted. She didn’t care, for they were beautiful. Little Specklekit looked just like her but had a spotty nose and she was in absolute adoration. Raising the litter of two was simple for Pebbleshine, despite it being her first one. Specklekit was pushy and cheeky, but she loved her family, and they seemed to listen to her teachings well. Despite the two kits liking to make mischief, they listen to her lectures and constructive feedback, taking it to heart. Her heart swelled each time they nodded at her lessons with round, slightly clueless eyes, for she new they would grow up near perfect. During the same moon as her own litter’s birth, Pebbleshine adopted Brackenkit into her own brood, her litter now containing three. When her litter was old enough to move to the apprentice’s den, Pebbleshine was half relieved, while half upset. She had enjoyed her time cuddling her three children each night, but it felt nice to return back to the familiarity of the warriors den – plus seeing her children grown up made her proud. When Specklepaw came tumbling into camp yowling something about their brother in the middle of the night, Pebbleshine was on of the first awake, running out to see her son trying to muffle his wails of pain. She froze for a split second after seeing his paw, bent the complete opposite way than it should be. Her heart broke and she stood there in shock. Luckily enough Flutterdream took over, and Pebbleshine was ushered over to Specklepaw to take care of them while her other son was in the medicine den. She knew her kit would live, but the concept of his paw forever being bent terrified her. Specklepaw poured his heart out to her when they could talk, taking the entire blame for their siblings injury, asking Pebbleshine if she wanted them to leave the clan and never come back. Pebbleshine just looked at her child with broken eyes while a semi-amused purr quietly rumbled from her throat. Specklepaw was her kit and she would never stop loving him. She explained how Specklepaw was not the one to blame, giving him a large heartfelt talk but she felt lost as Specklepaw walked away without a word, clearly still blaming themself. Her son healed, only with a slightly twisted paw and a weaker leg. Pebbleshine was so relieved to know that both her kits were still healthy and in the clan, on their way to become warriors. It was not long after this incident that Pebbleshine was out on a solo hunt, wanting to bring back some prey to bring smiles to the faces of her clanmates. She was invested in the hunt, too focused on scents to notice the looming shadow that soon approached her. She noticed, but not with enough time. With its talons outstretched, at scored across one of her eyes, leaving her confused and blinded, screeching with pain. With her own claws and legs outstretched nearly instantly, she managed to hook her own paws into the hawk, a Northern Harrier and bring it down with fury, shredding whatever part of it she could see with her remaining eye. Ashamed that a small hawk like the harrier had injured her, she made her way back to camp dizzily, loosing blood and carrying the now dead hawk. Pebbleshine survived, but not without permanent scars and a blinded eye. Once fully healed, seeing only from one eye felt disorientating, and Pebbleshine noticed a severe decline in her ability to hunt. She soon requested to retire, severely ashamed, of both her self deemed ugly appearance and now lack of ability. She now makes herself busy around camp, avoiding others unless approached. Her kit’s graduation to warrior has brought more happiness to her life, and she feels a little more perky as of lately. Threads :
