Long Description :

Oaktall is a tom of both size and bearing, so much so that he has to be careful how he interacts with his clan mates and rarely braves tree limbs or ice patches now that he’s fully grown out. His broad shoulders span both muscle and balance, long in limb and built with power than comes from his father’s partial Maine Coon heritage.

His short, dense coat is a smooth ticked chocolate sepia, rich and warm in hue, the darker guard hairs dusting his back, shoulders and extremities. Toward his chest, belly, and the insides of his legs the tone lightened to a soft pale cream brown. The play of golden brown and deeper umber shades along his flanks gave his fur a living, fluid quality in his movement.

A neat snip of white marks the fur just beneath his nose, a clean stroke that connected to his lips. His right ear bares a ragged tear, the fur around it still short where the skin had healed but a notch still remains. His eyes are a medium, crystalline blue and almond shaped with heavy brows on a broad face.

His muzzle is well defined with prominent cheekbones, with a faint tufting to his ears and a fringe of fur around his throat and belly. His tail is is dense, but sparely furred at the tip where there’s scarring.

Personality

Oaktall moves through life with the careful gait of a cat who understands the shadow that walks behind him. The Fierceblood lineage is both a weapon and  a burden – a reputation he neither denies nor embraces. Rather than trying to outdo his ancestors’ ferocity, Oaktall is learning to temper it, and shape it into something less inconsistent and more practiced. His thinks strength lies not in dominance but in sense of direction.

Oaktall is a firm believer that ambition is not a flaw but a compass. Every cat in his view should keep a clear goal in mind, something that drives them forward through their every day duties no matter how trivial. He doesn’t tolerate those who chase ambition without accountability. A cat who rises must also be willing to bear the weight of those they stand beside.

Oaktall wants to know his clanmates. ThunderClan is his family in both name and blood. Most cats in camp are distant kin in some measure and he treats that not just as a curiosity but a responsibility. He listens, observes and tries to remember the small details and preferences of those around him. To Oaktall knowing one’s clanmates is as important as defending them. A strong clan, in his eyes, is one where every warrior is seen and given purpose.

Despite his seemingly calm and careful manner, there’s a restless energy beneath his composure. Intensity can show in the tight set of his jaw or the sudden flash in his eyes when passion takes hold. He doesn’t deny his emotions he simply refuses to be ruled by them. The Fierceblood temper still lurks in him but his temper, when it surfaces, is a rare and potentially terrible thing. A small part of him relishes a bit too much when fighting, especially if it is due to defending his clan. He fears what would happen if he ever let his restraint falter. If one day, in defending his clan or his pride, he lets it slip… and he’d show that same fury that once defined his bloodline.

Oaktall is not one for grandeur. He has little tolerance for pretense or politics. Gatherings to him are parades of egos and empty words. He attends them only because duty demands it, but his disdain is no secret and keeps to himself and his clan.

To Oaktall ThunderClan’s strength is not in its reputation but in the shared collaboration of its warriors and in the loyalty built from knowing each other beyond names and titles. He is fiercely proud of his clan, and maybe in that way he shares that with his ancestors. His devotion runs deep and he expresses it in his service. He trusts ThunderClan to be the heart of the forest. It has roots that run deep and true, in his mind, like his own.

Kithood:

From the moment he opened his eyes, Oakkit was a born into expectation from his dam whose pride ran as deep as her ambitions. She wasted no time reminding her kits that greatness from their bloodlines was an obligation. Oakkit knew at a very young age was he was mean to be something.

Since he was so young, he didn’t quite understand what that meant yet. The world was new and exciting and full of stories. He was a rough and tumble kit who had a belting sort of laugh and always charged headfirst into playfights with his clanmates. Even his older denmates weren’t spared his attentions. Sparrowkit and Sunkit were both three moons his senior, but nearly as big as them. Greenfang never discouraged him, and never truly taught him how to lose gracefully.

Despite her hard earned praise and sometimes callous treatment of him Oakkit adored his dam. He wanted nothing more to match her ferocity and soaked up all the attention he could grab from his sire, Egretcry. When older warriors spoke of his father’s battles or his lineage’s strength, Oakkit listened with his jaw on the den floor. When he fell asleep at night, he dreamed he had the same qualities, that even Monsters would quake in his wake as Bloodstar made them had.

Oakkit was shaped, unknowingly, by his dam’s beliefs. Any time he failed a task he learned to hide the sting of disappointment. Any stumble would cause the tomkit to laugh it off before other cats could laugh at him. So he shadowed his dam, which only increased when news of his sire’s death reached his ears. How could such a strong cat like Egretcry perish like that? It usually doesn’t take much for a cat to dislike dogs, but due to this, he absolutely loathed them.

As the moon of his apprenticeship grew closer he was saddened that his own sire wouldn’t be able to mentor him, and hoped for the next best thing – another of his close kin.

Apprenticeship:

Oakkit got his apprentice name and his wish granted soon after. Oakkit had become Oakpaw and his mentor was Quailcall, another fierce and respectable she-cat and kin.
