Hazelkit was a delicate unique little kit, her soft, long fur a gentle cream mink point patterned pelt with faint mackerel tabby stripes that rippled like sunlight on water. Her tiny frame seemed to glow with warmth, her fur always slightly tousled in an endearing way, at least to her kin and those who knew her for the brief moment she had been alive. Though her kitten-blue eyes never had the chance to change, they held a depth and innocence that hinted at the hazel shade they would have become, reflecting her sweet and curious nature. Her little pink nose and small, tufted ears added to her charm, making her look like a kit out of a dream, for her family, she was too perfect and fleeting for the world.

Hazelkit was a bright little spark during her brief time in the world. Despite her tiny frame and fragile health, she exuded boundless energy, often wriggling around excitedly in the nest as though she were eager to explore everything around her. Her friendliness shone through as she constantly sought closeness, nuzzling against her mother or her sister, Basilkit, and letting out the tiniest, happiest purrs. Hazelkit’s sweetness was undeniable; she had a soft presence that seemed to radiate warmth and love, and to some, it made it near impossible not to adore her. She had a hint of naivety in her curiosity, reaching her paws out for anything new without fear or hesitation, as though the world held nothing but wonder for her. Though her life was fleeting, Hazelkit’s gentle, loving spirit left a lasting impression on those who knew her.

Hazelkit was born alongside her sister, Basilkit, to Sunbear and Fennelwhisker on a night in late greenleaf, arriving earlier than expected. As the runt of the litter, Hazelkit was delicate and frail, her small body struggling to keep up with the challenges of survival. Despite her weakness, she was seen by her kin as a joyful presence in the nursery, her sweet purrs and gentle nuzzles filling her family’s hearts with warmth. Her parents doted on her, and Basilkit often curled up protectively beside her in the nest, sharing their tiny warmth. However, as much as they hoped she would grow stronger, Hazelkit’s body couldn’t overcome the toll of her early birth. Close to her first moon, she passed away peacefully, leaving behind a bittersweet memory of a kind, loving soul who had brought light to their lives, if only for a short while.
