Physical Description : | A thick bodied snake with a broad, triangular head. The scales of the snakes very greatly in color and pattern, with some solid animals existing but most being patched with dark markings along the back in either a zig-zag or diamond pattern. The colors run the entire spectrum from tan to black, with most being various shades of middling brown or gray. |

Behavior : | This ground-dwelling snake prefers to avoid conflict, sunning on rocks and amongst stones and hibernating during the coldest part of the year. They feed on small mammals and reptiles. |
