Response:
A. Robinkit has a big heart and will gain a distinct ability to remember things off by heart. As well as her nearly pinpoint recall, she is rather empathetic to others’ pain and will be filled with a dedication to heal and mend any cat that may need any of her abilities. Having a determination to see all the cats she heals smile. But will make amens with the notion that she will not be able to save everyone and will meet death more than once or twice when in her role as medicine apprentice and then medicine cat.
Question:
Respond to the following post In Character as if with the character you would adopt or create.
Rowanglade carried three herbs in her mouth and dropped them in front of her young apprentice. “Which of these herbs would you use to treat a cat with Blackcough, and why.” The she-cat laid the challenge with a subtle touch of slyness in her tone, waiting attentively for her trainee to pick between basil leaves, dandelion leaves and raspberry leaves.
Response:
The dappled apprentice gazed at the herbs that her mentor lay out in front of her, basil, dandelion and raspberry leaves. All with a distinct appearance, and Robinpaw had learned the properties of each of the three herbs. But none a direct treatment for Blackcough as far as she knew. “Well, assuming the cat is within the early stages or a mild case of Blackcough, their coughs, despite bringing out what is needed from their lungs, would cause a sore throat” Robinpaw thought aloud, twitching the tip of her tail and her eyes narrowed with a deep focus, she knew one of these were something that could help, but which “Along with a loss of appetite, a fever and difficulty breathing”
Robinpaw gave the three piles of leaves some more thought, she more than likely wouldn’t have this much time when a cat was infected with the illness and needed help before her very eyes. But it hadn’t come to that, not yet anyway. “Out of the herbs that are there, Raspberry leaves can be cleansing and have mild effects with fever treatments, I think it could… no would be the raspberry leaves” she meowed, it was in her best interest to sound confident in her answer, though she had never really been a confident kit or apprentice, she would have to gain confidence if she was ever going to be taken seriously as a medicine cat.
“Though not placed in front of me, I know that honey is used to sooth soreness of throats, and feverfew can be used to reduce fevers of all kinds. Though it would be harder to find as it can only be found in Green-Leaf” The young caliby added, glancing up at her mentor and with a heavy breath she needed to give a fully definitive answer to her question, and she felt confident in her ability to answer it “The answer is Raspberry leaves”
Question:
Respond to the following post In Character as if with the character you would adopt or create. Please assume Rowanglade is out of camp for this situation and that your character is about 4 moons or more into training.
Robintail limped slowly into camp, his right foreleg dripping blood, and hanging at a strange angle. He whimpered slightly with each step, moving slowly towards the Medicine Cat’s Den. “Rowanglade?” His voice was weak, and he was clearly exhausted from the long journey. So exhausted that he collapsed as his three good legs gave out. When examined, it would be revealed that, in addition to the flesh around his paw being torn in an circle all the way around and scraped and cut in many places, one of the two long legbones had been broken. An experienced Medicine Cat would know it instantly: The work of one of the human’s Silver Jaws, deadly things they left to hunt for them, that grabbed in the limbs of animals not careful enough. Robintail was a rare case where one managed to wrestle their leg free and flee from the cold creature without tearing it off completely.
Response:
It had been rather peaceful for Robinpaw in the medicine den, herb sorting, small menial tasks like plucking thorns from paw pads and giving some herbs to any cat that needed them. It was busy, but not busy enough to become too stressful, especially with her mentor, Rowanglade, rather busy in their own right. With enough training, Robinpaw had been well adjusted to the life of a medicine cat, using her knowledge to help those in need. She was rather glad to be ThunderClan’s medicine apprentice.
Though, the relaxation couldn’t last forever Robinpaw knew that, as a warrior stumbled into the den, his front paw angled oddly and an open wound snaking a circle around the tom’s paw, but any cat would be able to see that his paw had been broken by some sort of object unknown to her. Robintail had called for Rowanglade, but Robinpaw’s mentor needed to focus on other duties, and Robinpaw knew how to heal a broken bone, Rowanglade had taught her, she just hoped that she hadn’t forgotten.
When Robintail had collapsed from the exhaustion, Robinpaw knew it was time to act quickly, this procedure would be painful without any painkillers, so the caliby she-cat rushed over towards the herb stock. Dragging out a leaf and a stem of Coriander instinctively, she knew that it the seeds were used to ease the pain of wounds and encourage sleep. It would be a herb quite suited for the pain that the tom would go through without it.
Robinpaw arrived back to her clanmate, he was still breathing, thank StarClan! She ensured that Robintail was able to lift his head with a few nudges before she tipped two coriander seeds onto the leaf. “Eat these, they will ease the pain” She mewed a desperation in her tone of voice, but it was stern, as if it were a command. While Robintail licked up the tiny seeds. Robinpaw took that time to examine the injury a little more, one of the two long leg bones in Robintail’s leg had been broken out of place. By the easing of the warrior’s breath, Robinpaw was sure that the coriander seeds have done their job efficiently and it was time to adjust their bone back into place.
Robinpaw crouched to the tom-cat’s forepaw, clenching it gently in her teeth as she watched the wound with her sharp yellow eyes watched that she was moving the paw into the right place. With the sharpness in her gaze, she moved the warrior’s bone back into the place it should be. With a swift movement to the medicine shelf, Robinpaw grabbed the large, hairy leaves of comfrey and a clump of cobwebs to dress the open wound.
Chewing up the comfrey into a pulp, Robinpaw kept an eye on her clanmate to ensure he wasn’t moving his paw, but his smooth breathing and limp-like form indicated exhaustion or that he had fallen asleep. With the chewed up comfrey, Robinpaw placed it onto the wound as the herb was known for improving the progress of healing bones. But for good measure, she wrapped the wound tightly with cobwebs, ensuring that the paw wasn’t able to be moved from the angle it should be healed at.
If all goes well, Robintail would be up and moving about in 2 moons, but all that will be in the paws of Rowanglade, Robinpaw and most importantly… StarClan.
