Response:
- Personality
Flutterdream is a friendly but quiet medicine cat who speaks her mind only when necessary, often forgetting names until she gets to know the cats better unless they are of her own clan. She prefers one-on-one conversations due to anxiety of large groups and is known for her honesty, even if she doesn’t always have the answer. Despite her quiet nature, she is a trustworthy keeper of secrets and often seem absent minded and easily distracted during her duties. Above all, Flutterdream is dedicated to caring for her Clanmates, treating them like family.
Backstory
Flutterdream was born to Dapplewish and Ravenpath in the Moon of Running Prey (2018). As a kit, she rarely stayed far from the nursery or the medicine den, where she often helped out. Recognizing her potential, the medicine cat asked the leader to make Flutterkit their apprentice. Though her apprenticeship began with a few distractions, Flutterpaw quickly became adept to identifying herbs, despite occasional mix ups. Her first trip to the Moonstone was intimidating, but her mentor’s reassurance saw her through. However, her peaceful start was shattered when a green-cough outbreak turned into black-cough, claiming her parents and nearly her mentor, leaving Flutterpaw devastated.
Despite her grief, Flutterpaw eventually refocused on her duties, even overcoming a near-accident that left her with a permanent limp. Her resilience was tested again when another black-cough outbreak struck the camp, but she and her mentor worked tirelessly to combat it. After proving her readiness, she was named Flutterdream. Not long after, her mentor retired and eventually passed away from an unknown illness. Flutterdream coped by immersing herself in her work until Palestar urged her to rest. Now, she approaches her duties with a more balanced perspective, dedicated to caring for her clanmates.
2. I plan to follow Flutterdream’s personality and ideals to the best of my ability, even focusing on the small details of her personality to a T. I have played several medicine cats in the past and have learned from more experienced people about herbs and healing techniques and am able to roleplay the treatment of many illnesses in roleplay settings. I am a rather experienced roleplayer and would love to take on the responsibility and ownership of Flutterdream.

The two apprentices snarled at each other in anger, the fur on their necks raised and their tails fluffed up like bottle brushes. As they circled, they spat insults back and forth. “Unreasonable mousebrained fool!” the gray tabby tom called Shadowpaw hissed. “I don’t understand why you just won’t leave me alone!”
“You’re the one who got us in trouble!” The speaker spitting this insult was the long-haired half brother of Shadowpaw known as Greypaw. The two were born to different Queens around the same time, but both by the same tom, named Fogpelt. This had led to the two kits echoing their individual mother’s competitive pushes for their kit to outperform the other. “Leafclaw was hunting with BOTH of us. It’s because of your incompetence that we have to tend the Elders’ ticks!”
Response:
Flutterdream was calmly resting in a small sunlit patch of land in the camp when she heard a dreadful hiss of anger, opening her eyes, she glanced over and noticed two apprentices, Greypaw and Shadowpaw, hissing and spitting at one another. Flutterdream soon wondered where Fogpelt, both the apprentices’ father was, perhaps on a patrol, Flutterdream concluded before stepping over to the set of rowdy hissing apprentices.
The sound she had arrived to was Greypaw hissing insults at Shadowpaw, both tom’s with their neck fur bristled and their hackles raised, their tail fur flared out with anger and unwavering fury. ‘It is because of your incompetence that we have to tend to Elder’s Ticks!’ She heard Greypaw spit the insult with the venom of fury at his kin. “You two, what is with this howling at one another?” She meowed, breaking the fit of hissing and snarling from the two apprentices to a long breath of silence from the both of them.
Flutterdream noticed both intended to explain but neither could get a word out without growling at one another. With a sigh, Flutterdream stepped in front of the two placing her tail between the apprentices to signal for them to stop their squabbling before it got out of hand. As much as she disliked having to intervene with matters like this, she hated to knowledge that the apprentice den would be filled with unnecessary tension from the two hissing apprentices. “Whatever it was, Leafclaw has said for you to tend to elders’ ticks and that is what must be done” she meowed, in an attempt to cool the situation down.
Though, despite the attempt, both still opened their jaws to protest, but before words echoed from either of their mouths, Flutterdream spoke to interupt them as to avoid more conflict “Apprentices earn punishments and you were both involved, no matter who’s fault it might have been, this is the punishment Leafclaw has chosen and there is nothing changing that” Flutterdream meowed she noticed the two apprenticed glancing at each other then back at Flutterdream, the two let out a disgruntled sigh and nodded in agreement.
“Good, now come with me and I can get you both some Mouse Bile” She meowed, glad she had recalled the right herb to be used on ticks, at least she believed she did, after her mentor’s passing, she had devoted herself to improving on what herbs did what, especially since the mistakes she had made as an apprentice herself. She stepped up and walked towards the medicine den, twisting her head around to make sure the two apprentices were in pursuit, and she was pleased that they were.

Leafclaw had been feeling unwell, and coughed as she approached the Medicine Cat’s den. Once greetings had been handled, she began in a somewhat weak voice. “Yesterday I was okay, but it rained again. Today I can hardly breath through my nose and I’ve been…” she didn’t finish the statement, but it seemed that her illness intended to speak for itself has the deep chested hacking that erupted from the lithe she-cat must have been what she had been about to refer to.
Response:
A cough made Flutterdream’s ears perk almost instantly, she had grown accustomed to recognizing the sounds of different coughs, and this cough, a deep chested hack, meaning mucus was more than likely caught inside of the lungs of whoever this cat was. A meow of greeting announced that this cat was Leafclaw. Her lithe build was hunched and she looked in a horrid state, her beautiful long legs stumbled weakly into the medicine den of ShadowClan.
Flutterdream was quick to rush a greeting out of worry and lowered her ear slightly, “Leafclaw, what’s the matter? Had this happened yesterday during the rainfall?” she asked, and shortly, Leafclaw had explained that she was struggling with breathing through her nose. It was when Leafclaw had mentioned it that Flutterdream had noticed her nose was running with mucus. This was clearly a cold she had gained from being out in the rain.
“Right, I’ll fetch you some feverfew and catnip” She meowed nuzzling her herb stock until she came across what she needed to find, a bundle of scalloped dark green leaves with yellow and white flowers with a tangy scent. The leaves were soft to the touch as Flutterdream picked them out of the herb storage, placing the feverfew at her paws then sniffed for a delicious smelling plant with tall hairy stems with large leaves. With long purple flowers that had long since bloomed at the top of the stem, catnip.
Flutterdream clasped the needed herbs in her teeth and brought them over to Leafclaw, her worried expressions had faded, she knew these had been the right herbs to use, she had treated many colds and fevers, especially ones due to chilly weather and rainfall. “I’ll need you to chew these alright Leafclaw?” Flutterdream meowed, or much rather, lightly demanded of her clanmate, as if not treated, the cold could only get worse. Watching Leafclaw agree and chew on the herbs brought peace to Flutterdream’s mind and once done, the cough and sniffly nose seemed to slowly ease away.
After a fleeting moment of silence, Flutterdream spoke once more “If your throat becomes sore from the cough, let me know and I will give you some honey to ease the pain” the tortoiseshell medicine cat let out a gentle sigh as Leafclaw nodded to her statement. “I’ll have you stay here, every day or so I will give you a check up to see how that cold is doing, and we can hope that you will be back to your duties before the next gathering”
I would be extremely honored if I am given this character, I love roleplaying as medicine cats for the most part and it is fun to heal the illnesses of others in the warriors format. I wish any other people that may apply good luck though!
