Duskmantle x Nightwhisper

Nightwhisper and Duskmantle had grown rather close over the moons they have been talking with one another. Nightwhisper trusts Duskmantle enough to sire a litter for her, and while the idea to have a litter was done on a whim, Nightwhisper couldn’t be any less sure about it than if she had thought about it for a whole moon. And with the knowledge that Glowkit would be graduating to apprenticehood any moon from now, a litter would need to be produced to keep the population moving forward.

Evidence of Duskmantle and Nightwhisper’s connection is as follows:
Whispers at Dusk(19LG21) – On the nineteenth day of Lion’s Glory, Nightwhisper and Duskmantle were out hunting by the swamplands. Nightwhisper started some idle discussion about ShadowClan’s newest apprentices, of which they talked about their training and how each of them thinks they would go further down the line. This proved that the two were willing to talk to one another and worked well together and were able to respect each other’s space when it mattered.

Nose to the Ground(14CF21) – While Duskmantle is tracking a scent that had been trailing through ShadowClan territory, Nightwhisper bumps into him while on the same trail, there is a brief exchange between them before they follow the scent trail over into the streets of Whitehart, over the border. Nightwhisper’s displays a curious interest in Duskmantle as they discuss what the scent might be…

Nose in the Air(14CF21) – With the scent in their noses, Duskmantle follow it and find Ahryndae, a ‘pompous rat’ as Nightwhisper so angrily called her when she had struck a nerve with the title of ‘swampstomper’ and her overly arrogant attitude towards the ShadowClanners. After Ahryndae swiftly escaped onto a roof of a twoleg-nest, Nightwhisper quickly calmed the fire that had unintentionally burst in front of the rogue. While Duskmantle apologized for dragging Nightwhisper all the way to twoleg-place, Nightwhisper saw it as a learning opportunity, or perhaps an adventure in a different light. Either way, she didn’t mind the company.

Burnt Bark(12SC21) – Duskmantle had found himself a comfortable spot on the Burnt Sycamore on the 12th day of the Sparrow’s Crowning and Nightwhisper had been incredibly bored for a lot of the day and needed to stretch her legs with a good run. A run that eventually led the two together once more. Now that these interactions were no longer a one of thing, Nightwhisper joined Duskmantle and gave him a discussion (and a little entertainment for herself) as the sun began to set, on the territory, deciding to leave and meet Duskmantle back at camp to rest for the night.

A Squeak Among Us(12SC21) – Earlier in the day than Burnt Bark, Duskmantle was out on the hunt for rats. Nightwhisper appearing out of seemingly thin air to help him hunt, the two got a successful haul of both grown rats and what had been titled ‘Rat-kits’ and a rat-queen. Briefly, Nightwhisper thought of the idea of kits, imagining Murksong being alone without promise of a bloodline seemed like a heartache that Nightwhisper couldn’t possibly bear. And well… she liked kits and knew that they would keep her from being bored, so why not? She subtly proposed the idea to Duskmantle and mated not long after the events of Burnt Bark.
