Question #1 : Essay Question

Question:

Please answer the question that reflects the direction you are taking based on your choices.

  1. Provide a brief rundown of the personality and history of the character in question, making sure to explain where major personality traits came from, and to include those traits you think qualify the character as the Medicine Cat.
  2. Describe how you plan to take up the mantel of this existing character and why you would be a good choice to play them going forward.

Response:

From what I can see, Flutterdream is a kind, caring medicine cat. She doesn’t seem overly chatty, and maybe a little self-absorbed, though not on purpose. She is described as anxious within large groups. She is secretive at heart, and an intent listener, always trying to answer any questions the best she can. Sometimes Flutterdream may be stuck contemplating her own thoughts, the well-being of her clan is her top priority – quick summary of her original personality

If i were to adopt her, I would like to make a few small changes to aspects of her personality, such as

– removing her anxiety from large groups. While not overly disabling, it’s something I don’t think fits how I would like to play her. I would consider  maybe changing these anxieties to something around her image within the clan, with her sometimes worrying what the clan thinks of her and her abilities as the sole medicine cat of the clan. Though I would like to keep the aspect of her getting overwhelmed when many people are speaking to her.

– maybe make her a little more chatty, not extroverted, but one that doesn’t mind being approached, ect. I feel like for a medicine cat this is important.

– maybe develop her secret keeping side a little more? 🧐

Question #2 : Role Play Situation

Question:

Reply in-character to the following post.

The two apprentices snarled at each other in anger, the fur on their necks raised and their tails fluffed up like bottle brushes. As they circled, they spat insults back and forth. “Unreasonable mousebrained fool!” the gray tabby tom called Shadowpaw hissed. “I don’t understand why you just won’t leave me alone!”

“You’re the one who got us in trouble!” The speaker spitting this insult was the long-haired half brother of Shadowpaw known as Greypaw. The two were born to different Queens around the same time, but both by the same tom, named Fogpelt. This had led to the two kits echoing their individual mother’s competitive pushes for their kit to outperform the other. “Leafclaw was hunting with BOTH of us. It’s because of your incompetence that we have to tend the Elders’ ticks!”

Response:

Flutterdream had been within her den, contemplating whether she would head out in search of herbs or not before she was interrupted by the squawking of two apprentices. Right outside her den. With a sigh she removed herself from her thoughts and padded out into the open to investigate. Too little of Flutterdream’s surprise, it was Greypaw and Shadowpaw, the ever competing half brothers. ‘Alright, alright, what’s going on here you two? You’ve been creating a ruckus nearly every day because of your constant squabbling’ she said lightheartedly, pushing herself gently in front of the two snarling cats, though there was an underlying tone of seriousness in her voice. ‘Tell me what happened. Nonsense like this doesn’t happen for no reason.

Flutterdream already had a good idea what they were fighting about, but it was better to let them explain it themselves. Maybe they would get a better understanding of each other that way?

Her tone was soft, lacking hostility and aggravation. It honestly made her a little upset. She would have done anything to have experienced siblings growing up, and here these two were, constantly bickering. Flutterdream would try her hardest to foster a healthy relationship between the two, for it was her duty and she couldn’t bear to see two young cats throw away a bond they should be lucky to have.

Question #3 : Role Play Situation

Question:

Reply in-character to the following post.

Leafclaw had been feeling unwell, and coughed as she approached the Medicine Cat’s den. Once greetings had been handled, she began in a somewhat weak voice. “Yesterday I was okay, but it rained again. Today I can hardly breath through my nose and I’ve been…” she didn’t finish the statement, but it seemed that her illness intended to speak for itself has the deep chested hacking that erupted from the lithe she-cat must have been what she had been about to refer to.

Response:

At Leafclaw’s voice, Flutterdream instantly moved her attention towards the lithe she-cat, doing a quick physical assessment before she could even finish talking. Leafclaw’s concern was soon interrupted by a hacking cough, which made Flutterdream move closer to the warrior, nudging her further into the den to rest within a nest. Until she determined what exactly it was, some Colt’s foot would do. It would help without wasting anything unnecessarily. Flutterdream dipped the leaves in honey before handing them over to Leafclaw, instructing her to eat.

Sitting next to Leafclaw, Flutterdream began her questioning. ‘I can’t be certain yet, but it will likely be a simple case of whitecough, meaning I want you to stay in my den and rest. I need to monitor you in case it gets worse’ she explained, placing a comforting tail on the warriors shoulder. ‘Now, just a few questions to help me confirm; when you cough, does it feel like you are coughing up something? Or coughing because your body is just telling you to cough?’ It sounded dry to Flutterdream, but she may as well double check because if it wasn’t – then this case was more serious than she thought. ‘Have you ever coughed up any blood?; and is your breathing troubles just from your blocked nose? Or does it feel like it’s coming from your lungs too?’ This would be enough questions for now. She didn’t want to overwhelm the warrior, and Flutterdream probably knew better than anyone else how overwhelming it could be.

She glanced over to her herb supply, deciding what she could use depending on severity. It was currently Leaf-fall, meaning she didn’t have a lot of options, but she wild push through. Not even the harshest Leadbare could stop Flutterdream.
